Director / Center Terms & Agreement

CHILDCARE COALITION will:

  • Select candidates whom we believe should be a good fit for childcare centers
  • Provide a 3-hour new teacher Orientation to substitute teachers to prepare them for their work in child care center classrooms
  • Conduct a CLASS® screening for each age group the teacher desires working with
  • Pay for and run the state-required Louisiana Child Care Criminal Background Check on substitute teachers
  • Provide an orientation to childcare center host sites
  • Review the expectations for Partnering Centers described here and provide guidance where needed
  • Create a staff folder that meets licensing and payroll requirements 
  • Ask for your feedback (by completing an online survey)  on your experience as a substitute teacher at each site
  • Provide facilitation if you should happen to encounter any problems 
  • Incorporate your feedback into program assessment and improvements

The Partnering Center agrees to:

  • Follow the safety and developmentally-appropriate practices for a high quality licensed center
  • Preparing for subs: Create subfolders for each classroom that includes classroom schedule, the roster of children, special needs, evacuation routes. This must be in place to schedule a sub.
  • Before sub works the first time: Verify (and copy) each reporting sub’s staff folder with all licensing and payroll requirements
  • Before sub works the first time: Provide sub with an on-site orientation that includes sub folder review, emergency procedures and tour, and child release information
  • When scheduling: Utilize Childcare Coalition job posting platform in a timely manner to request substitutes
  • Sub has a designated person at the center to report to on arrival 
  • Day of: Add the sub to the CCCBC roster
  • Day of: Allow the sub to work in the agreed-upon classroom for the hours assigned
  • Day of: Provide the sub support to handle any licensing documentation
  • After each shift: Pay the sub during scheduled payroll at a minimum of $10 per hour
  • After each shift: Complete a brief survey following each shift and provide feedback throughout the pilot 

Substitute Teacher Terms & Agreement

CHILDCARE COALITION will:

  • Select candidates whom we believe should be a good fit for child care centers
  • Provide a paid 3-hour new teacher Orientation to substitute teachers to prepare them for their work in child care center classrooms
  • Pay for and run the state-required Louisiana Child Care Criminal Background Check on substitute teachers
  • Provide an orientation to child care center host sites and have them review and sign an agreement that lists expectations for their participation in this pilot
  • Create a substitute folder that provides you with all the documentation you will need for the child care center host site to process your time in their payroll system and for Licensing
  • Ask for your feedback on your experience as a substitute teacher at each site, provide facilitation if you should happen to encounter any problems, and incorporate your feedback into program assessment and improvements
  • Childcare centers are responsible for payment for the substitutes
  • Childcare Coalition has a platform at www.c2coalition.org to request substitutes

 

The Substitute Teacher Pool member agrees to:

  • Show up  on time for accepted shifts
  • Bring Payroll and Licensing documentation needed by centers to each shift
  • Follow any procedures outlined upon arrival at the center
  • Work the hours for which she or he signs up
  • Follow the safety and developmentally-appropriate practices taught in their Orientation
  • Complete for CHILDCARE COALITION a brief survey following each shift and provide feedback throughout the pilot
